Breakfast jars full of soaked goodies are my new nutritious and delicious fav. I enjoy this recipe fresh but you can leave it in the fridge overnight to have on-the-go the next morning. This jar is made up of 3 layers: home-made bircher muesli, strawberry smoothie and blueberry smoothie. Including all the layers is optional but I have written out the full recipe below (to serve one):
Home-made bircher muesli layer:
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup oats
- 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1/4 cup hot water
- 1 tsp chia seeds
Method
- Put the oats and chia seeds into a mason jar
- Pour the hot water and almond milk into the mason jar and mix
Strawberry smoothie layer:
Ingredients:
- 1/2 banana
- 1/4 cup strawberries
- splash of unsweetened almond milk
Method
- Blend the banana, strawberries and almond milk together in a blender until smooth
- Pour into the mason jar to form a layer on top of the oats
Blueberry smoothie layer:
Ingredients:
- 1/2 banana
- 1/4 cup blueberries
- splash of unsweetened almond milk
Method
- Blend the banana, blueberries and almond milk together in a blender until smooth
- Pour into the mason jar to form a layer on top of the strawberry smoothie
Top with mixed nuts and fresh berries <3
